Kenya GT Fishing - Hall of Fame!
Kenya is undoubtedly one of the premier GT fishing destinations worldwide at present. Most of the fish caught on poppers weigh above 25kg. In recent years, our clients have landed several GTs above 60kg, and the average size, as well as the number of fish, is unparalleled. GTs in Kenya are caught both while popping and jigging. The largest GT caught jigging exceeded 70kg!
Kenya Yellowfin Tuna Fishing
Hall of Fame!
Our Yellowfin Tuna season typically begins in February. Depending on the annual currents, Yellowfins gather in significant numbers off Kenya’s northern coast. However, as Yellowfins are migratory, encountering large schools and massive fish isn’t guaranteed. The best chances for encountering big Yellowfin Tuna are from February to April. Ideal conditions occur when the current consistently flows from North to South, carrying nutrient-rich waters from the Somali Coast into Kenyan waters. These currents bring abundant plankton and sardines, attracting large schools of tuna.
Kenya Jigging - Hall of Fame!
Jigging in Kenya is also highly successful. The ocean teems with various reef species such as groupers, different trevally species, and snappers. The diversity of fish is remarkable, and our clients have previously landed huge Giant Trevallies using jigs! Therefore, you never know what might grab your jig. Regular GT catches in Kenya are quite common!
